Basic Incenses for Healing

It is interesting to learn that how the essential oil comes up with its healing ability. There can be more than one hundred of photochemical within each drop of essential oil. Incense is composed of aromatic plant materials that often combined with essential oils. Here are several basic incenses which is suitable for healing purpose.

 

Bay (Pimental racemosa)

Bay essential oil was origin obtained from bay trees, an evergreen tree in West Indies. The oil is extracted from the fresh leaves of the bay tree through steam distillation. The color of bay essential oil is in deep golden yellow color after the process of steam distillation. Bay oil often use for relieving muscle and joint pain and neuralgia. Moreover, it can be also added to your bath water or use as massage oil in order to induce the relaxing effect.

 

Cedar (Cedrus atlantica)

Cedar or cedar wood essential oil is sourced from the wood of the cedar tree. With its rich and woody aroma, cedar oil is said to benefit to physical health. It normally used to treat physical health problem like cold, coughs, acne, etc. Other than that, cedar oil also can reduce stress of one’s. Cedar oil can be combining with carrier oil such as jojoba, avocado, or sweet almond in order to apply the oil directly to the skin or add the oil to the bath.

 

Cinnamon

Cinnamon essential oil is often used in aromatherapy. It is typically sourced from the bark of the cinnamon tree. Besides, cinnamon essential oil is said to offer variety of heal benefits. Cinnamon is touted as natural remedy to treat sickness like cough, colds and constipation. In addition, cinnamon essential oil is said to stimulate circulation, reduce stress, relieve pain, fight off infections, improve digestion, and protect against insects.

 

Juniper (Juniperus communis)

The essential oil of juniper is obtained through steam distillation of the needles, wood and powdered fruits of juniper. As we can see, Juniper has been a famous antiseptic from centuries ago until now, as the wounded people from the war use it too. Short to say, Juniper protects wounds from becoming septic. It also promotes blood circulation, which is very suitable for those people who suffer from arthritis.

 

Myrrh (Commiphora myrrha)

Myrrh oil is obtained through steam distillation from myrrh resin. It is in golden yellow color. It often uses as antioxidant, astringent, anti-tumoral, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-parasitic, antiviral, and analgesic (pain relieving) benefits. Myrrh oil can be used by inhale it, or apply it into the skin. It can be consume as well. However, it is recommended to take one or two drops of myrrh oil combine with almond or rice milk.

 

Pine (Pinus sylvestris)

Pine oil is typically obtained from pine tree that has go through steam distillation to form pine essential oil. Pine oil benefits to relive pain and stress. It reduces inflammation and reduces the redness of the affected area, and eliminating the pain as well. Pine oil is also a natural remedy for various infections such as Urinary Tract Infections (UTI). This protective property is due once again to its antibacterial components.

 

Sage (Salvia officinalis)

Sage is native to the southern parts of Europe, and the essential oil of sage can be obtained from the sage leaves through steam distillation. Sage oil boost digestive track, as the oil supports the secretion of gastric juices and bile to facilitate digestion. Moreover, it also offers in relieving pain in muscle, body or spinal pain due to sciatica. The oil reduces accumulation of phlegm as well.

 

Sandalwood

Sandalwood is commonly used in aromatherapy as well. It is sourced from the wood of trees in genus Santalum. Sandalwood oil claimed as a natural remedy for health problems like anxiety, coughs, diarrhea, insomnia and sore throat. Other than that, it can be also used to improve mood, and relieve stress. By inhaling the aroma of sandalwood essential oil is thought to transmit messages to a brain region involved in controlling emotions, therefore improved mood and relived stress.

 

Thyme (Thymus vulgaris)

The essential oil of thyme is derived from thyme, and it is often used in aromatherapy too. Thyme oil may be used to stimulate the mind, strengthen memory and concentration, and calm the nerves. Moreover, Thyme oil also can be used to fight against gout, arthritis, wounds, sores in physical problem. It can also help to stimulate stress, fatigue, menstrual, and even depression.
